Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a year-round cruise port and one of the world's busiest. From here, Celebrity Cruises® sails Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries out of Port Everglades aboard seven ships, including Celebrity Xcel℠, Celebrity Ascent℠, and Celebrity Beyond®. Departures run across the Caribbean and more: The Bahamas on a quick three-night break, or the Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean when you have a week or more. Restoring begins the moment you step on board, with sea days built for the pool deck, a slow lunch, and dinner that runs late.
The city itself deserves a day of your time, too. Fort Lauderdale's canal network—the reason locals call it the "Venice of America"—winds toward the shops and galleries of Las Olas Boulevard, the mangroves of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, and the contemporary collection at NSU Art Museum. Consider it a warm-up lap for everything that follows.
There’s no better way to experience the joys of the Caribbean than on a cruise with Celebrity. Our award-winning ships sail year-round to the region’s most beautiful destinations, including the white-sand beaches of the Bahamas, the coral reefs of Cozumel, the lively town of Key West, and the ancient forts of San Juan.
Spend your days swimming under the tropical sun and relaxing under the shade of a palm tree. Get your heart pumping during thrilling underwater excursions or explore the wealth of natural wonders waiting to be discovered. On board, unwind at the spa or lounge by the pool, savor world-class dining, and end the night with a drink at the Martini Bar or dancing under the stars.
Enjoy an unforgettable vacation while aboard one of our sleek, contemporary ships. Sail on Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Beyond, and the brand new Celebrity Xcel, our innovative Edge-series vessels with state-of-the-art accommodations and breathtaking venues like the Magic Carpet®. Enjoy the stunning re-designed interiors of sister ships Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Reflection, and Celebrity Silhouette, or choose the much-loved Celebrity Summit®. On any of our ships, you’ll find world-class dining and unparalleled service at every turn.
The beautiful Bahamas are scattered across the turquoise ocean, surrounded by soft, white-sand beaches. Explore laid-back Nassau, where there's a lively culinary scene and great shopping. Snorkel over a wreck in sleepy Bimini and swim with stingrays at Honeymoon Harbour. There are underwater caves to explore on Grand Bahama, while Perfect Day CocoCay is a delight for the whole family—with plunging waterslides, ziplining, a thrilling wave pool, and overwater cabanas.
The islands of the Eastern Caribbean are packed with natural wonders. Explore the giant boulders and hidden lagoons of The Baths on Virgin Gorda, and slide down the natural rock chutes of Damajagua Falls near Puerto Plata. Discover lush St. Maarten on two wheels and cool off in the blue Caribbean Sea. Bask on the gorgeous beaches of the U.S. Virgin Islands and follow the underwater snorkel trail at St. John's Trunk Bay, ending your day with a romantic sunset catamaran cruise.

Sail to the Southern Caribbean and embark on an unforgettable vacation to some of the most popular destinations in the region. Lounge on the white sand beaches and swim in the calm waters of Aruba. Discover brilliant corals and marine life while you're on sleepy Bonaire, which has some of the finest diving in the world. Admire the brightly colored waterfront buildings of Curaçao. On Barbados, sample cutters, or fried fish sandwiches, and fruity rum punch as you relax on golden sand beaches.
Cozumel does turquoise like nowhere else. Celebrity ships dock an easy hop from San Miguel's waterfront, putting the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef (the largest reef system in the Western Hemisphere) within reach of your morning coffee. Snorkel it, dive it, or day-trip to ancient Mayan ruins, then wander back for tacos al pastor worth writing home about.
A private island in The Bahamas designed for doing everything, or gloriously nothing. Spend the morning on waterslides and the wave pool, claim a stretch of powder-white beach by noon, and settle into an overwater cabana. The day moves at whatever pace you want to set, right up until the ship's horn calls you home.
Cruise ships in Fort Lauderdale dock at Port Everglades, one of the three busiest cruise ports in the world. It’s where eight cruise terminals welcome more than four million guests a year. Celebrity Cruises sails from Terminal 25 at 2025 Eller Drive, purpose-built with Celebrity in mind. Look for porter service at the curb, restrooms, seating, and free Wi-Fi inside, plus step-free accessibility from drop-off to gangway.
The port spans three zones (Northport, Midport, and Southport), and Terminal 25 sits in Midport with the Palm Garage directly across the street. That way, the walk from parked car to check-in is measured in minutes, not miles.
Getting here is simple. Port Everglades is approximately two to three miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL): a five- to 10-minute drive and one of the shortest airport-to-port distances of any major U.S. cruise port. Shuttle buses, taxis, and rideshares make the hop constantly on cruise days, so you can land mid-morning and realistically be dockside before your luggage would have found a carousel anywhere else.
Driving in? The port sits just off I-595, with clear signage funneling you straight to the terminals and garages. Prefer rails to roads? Brightline service reaches its Fort Lauderdale station about five minutes from the port, an easy hand-off to a taxi or rideshare for the final stretch. However you arrive, your boarding documents confirm your terminal, so give them a glance before you set out.
Flying in the night before or lingering after you disembark? Fort Lauderdale rewards the extra time with several distinct experiences within easy reach of Port Everglades: sun, culture, wilderness, and one very good shopping street among them.
Seven miles of golden sand and clear Atlantic water, backed by a palm-lined promenade made for slow mornings. It's the city's front porch and the easiest way to start vacation early. You can swim, rent a beach chair, or try windsurfing if you're feeling ambitious. About 10 minutes from Port Everglades by car.
Fort Lauderdale's signature street packs 14 blocks with boutiques, art galleries, and waterfront restaurants between downtown and the beach. It's where the city dresses up a little. Come for a long lunch, and leave with a full camera roll. Roughly 10 minutes from the port.
A palm-shaded pedestrian path tracing the New River through the heart of downtown, linking parks, cafés, and museums. It's the best way to see the canal culture that earned the city its nickname, or hop the water taxi for a captain's-eye view. About 10 minutes from the port.
Celebrity Cruises offers ship-organized airport transfers between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Port Everglades, plus an expertly curated lineup of Everglades-area shore excursions for guests arriving early or lingering after the cruise.
Transfers run on cruise-day schedules, timed to your ship's arrival and departure (no clock-watching, no curbside negotiating). Flying out of Miami instead? Transfers to Miami International Airport are available on debarkation day, too. Excursion lineups shift with the season and your sailing, so check what's available during your pre-cruise planning and book early.

Cruise ships in Fort Lauderdale dock at Port Everglades, one of the three busiest cruise ports in the world, home to eight cruise terminals. Celebrity Cruises sails primarily from Terminal 25, about a 10-minute drive from both the airport and downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Several major cruise lines sail from Port Everglades, and Celebrity Cruises leads the premium tier with seven ships based in Fort Lauderdale: Celebrity Xcel, Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Silhouette, and Celebrity Summit.
Port Everglades sits about two to three miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). That’s a five- to 10-minute drive and one of the shortest airport-to-port distances of any major U.S. cruise port. You can land mid-morning and still make your boarding window with time to spare.
Most guests take a rideshare, taxi, or hotel shuttle for the quick 10-minute trip from FLL to Port Everglades. Rideshares typically run $15 to $25, and taxis charge a flat rate around $20. Celebrity Cruises also offers ship-organized transfers timed to embarkation and debarkation days, and Brightline trains and rental cars work, too.
Port Everglades operates two garages and several surface lots beside the terminals, with more than 5,500 spaces. Guests sailing from Terminal 25 typically use the adjacent Palm Garage. Daily parking maxes out at $20 for standard vehicles and $25 for oversized ones, with no reservation needed. Independent off-site lots with shuttle service usually cost less.
Arrive during the appointment window Celebrity Cruises emails about 21 days before sailing. Terminal doors at Port Everglades typically open between 10:30 and 11:00 AM, and boarding closes roughly 90 minutes before departure. Aim for your assigned window. The dockside sprint is nobody's favorite way to start a vacation.
A valid passport is the smoothest way to board any international sailing. On closed-loop cruises that return to Fort Lauderdale, U.S. citizens may instead present a government-issued photo ID plus an original or certified copy of their birth certificate. Bring originals. Photocopies and digital versions aren't accepted at check-in.
Celebrity Cruises sails year-round Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries from Fort Lauderdale aboard seven ships, from three-night quick breaks to 14-night journeys. Ports of call include Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Nassau, San Juan, St. Maarten, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, and Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Both ports offer Caribbean and Bahamas sailings, and Fort Lauderdale is Celebrity's larger hub—seven ships, including the newest, Celebrity Xcel, and the widest range of itinerary lengths. Miami focuses on shorter Bahamas escapes aboard a smaller Celebrity fleet. Pick Fort Lauderdale for variety and Edge Series access. Pick Miami for a quick island fix.
