Vaccine Policy to Sail
All guests ages 12 and older* must be fully vaccinated to sail.
COVID-19 booster vaccine shots are not currently required to sail but are highly recommended.
Guests are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if 2 weeks have passed since their second dose in a 2-dose series (such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); or, 2 weeks after a one dose series such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
Vaccines approved and accepted by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) will be considered valid.
Guests with a mixed series of any two of the following vaccines taken within a minimum of 28 days between doses, will also be considered fully vaccinated:
- Pfizer/Cominarty
- Moderna/Spikevax
- Johnson & Johnson/Janssen
- AstraZeneca/Covishield/Vaxzevria
- Sinovac/Coronavac
- Sinopharm/BBIBP-CorV
- Covaxin
- Nuvaxovid
Any guest who has received one dose of a vaccine (other than Johnson & Johnson/Janssen) will not be considered fully vaccinated.
All guests ages 12 and older must provide documentation of full vaccination at the terminal as a condition for boarding.
Please plan to carry your vaccination documentation with you at all times while in port should local authorities or businesses request it to help facilitate entry and/or experiences.
Sailing Testing Requirements
Pre-Arrival/Embarkation Covid-19 Testing
All guests ages 2 and older must test negative for COVID-19 in order to board their sailing.
Accepted test options include:
- A PCR test taken at a private laboratory within 3 days prior to boarding;
- Any commercially available Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), including self-tests, within 1 day of boarding. Tests do not have to be supervised or proctored. (For guests selecting this option who are traveling internationally, we strongly recommend pre-purchasing your test kit in your home country and traveling with it to Australia.)
- Antibody tests will not be accepted.
All guests ages 2 and older will be asked to present proof of a negative test result. Test results may be presented as a printout, screenshot, or photo of the test result or the actual test.
For guests traveling internationally and selecting the RAT testing option, we strongly recommend purchasing a test kit in your home country and traveling with it in order to meet the one-day prior-to-boarding testing requirement.
Debark
No Debark testing is required.
Certificates of Recovery
Guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may present a Certificate of Recovery and proof of the positive PCR or RAT test result taken between 11 and less than 90 days prior to the sail date in order to board and be exempt from testing. The Certificate of Recovery can be presented as an NHS COVID Pass, EU Certificate of Recovery or as a letter from a healthcare provider. In addition, you must still present a vaccination card. Please be aware that some ports of call do not accept a Certificate of Recovery for the purposes of debarking and enjoying the destination. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record.
PRE-CRUISE Test Kit Resources for U.S. Guests
Numerous rapid antigen tests (RAT) are now commercially available at drugstores, pharmacies and other locations. We are also pleased to make a guided test option available for order pre-cruise for U.S. guests. We suggest that you order the test kit(s) at least 10 days in advance of your sailing and plan to travel with them, in order to complete the 1-day prior-to-boarding testing requirement. While these tests exceed government requirements, they do feature a certified guide who walks you through the testing steps and your results are typically ready in about 15 minutes. The cost for COVID-19 test kits may be covered by your health insurance plan. Please check with your insurance provider for coverage benefits.
