2019: New Ships, New Ports, New Itineraries

The most anticipated ship of the year, Celebrity Edge®, will start her journey in the Caribbean before making her way to Europe. Celebrity Flora℠ will be taking the Galapagos Islands by storm. Then, there’s the Celebrity Revolution—our more than $500 million fleet modernization that’s beginning in January. It’s going to be a year like no other.

We have a lot of new and exciting itinerary developments, too. Celebrity is shaking things up with new ports, more overnights and moving our ships around throughout the world.

Celebrity Eclipse® is going to South America, Alaska and Hawaii. In Europe, you can visit four new ports and experience the nightlife in 16 cities. Six of our stunning ships are sailing in the Caribbean. And that’s just the beginning so let’s break it down.

2019 will be a monumental year for Celebrity Cruises

With three award-winning ships in this destination, you have numerous vacation options including exciting Cruisetours that combine the best of land and sea.

  • Cruise from Seward to Vancouver on Celebrity Millennium®, the first ship to undergo its Celebrity Revolution in February 2019.
  • Celebrity Eclipse® sails Alaska for the first time, replacing Celebrity Infinity®, on round-trip sailings out of Vancouver. To make it even more special, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, our President and CEO, will be on board for her new “Celebrate with the CEO” series on the June 2 sailing.
  • We’ll be visiting Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier for the first time, replacing Tracy Arm Fjord for something new, and joining existing Hubbard Glacier and Inside Passage itineraries.

In 2019, we’re adding another ship to our European fleet bringing us to five vessels. Celebrity now takes you to 27 fascinating countries and more than 90 cities, with overnight stays in 16 of them. Celebrity has been named Best Cruise Line in Europe eight years in a row by Travel Weekly so what are you waiting for?

  • Celebrity Edge® will have her inaugural season in Europe exploring the Amalfi Coast, Greek Isles, Italy, Spain, France, and Monaco on 7-night peak season sailings. You’ll experience this new ship’s revolutionary innovations such as the outward-facing design, Magic Carpet, Infinite View Verandas, two-story Edge Villas, ever-changing Eden, and more.
  • Celebrity Reflection® (voted Best Premium Ship in Europe 9 years in a row by Travel Weekly) replaces Celebrity Eclipse® here and will sail in northern Europe.
  • Celebrity Infinity® journeys to Europe from Alaska this year with 11-night and 12-night Mediterranean itineraries best for guests looking to avoid the peak crowds.
  • 2019 also includes four new ports of call: Santa Margarita, Italy; Rijeka, Croatia; Nauplion, Greece; and Monaco.

With six ships sailing the gorgeous Caribbean waters, 2019 will be a year unlike any other. Celebrity Edge will make her long-awaited debut here. Celebrity Summit® will be fresh from her Celebrity Revolution revitalization in March. And Celebrity Equinox℠ finishes her revitalization in May and will sail all year round in the Caribbean.

  • Equinox features a new 4-port itinerary in Eastern Caribbean with calls to Punta Cana.
  • We’ve added new Captain’s Club Exclusive shore excursions in Aruba, Puerto Rico, and Grand Cayman. Available only to members like you so check them out.
  • After a 2-year hiatus, Celebrity Infinity® brings back short 4-and-5-night getaways to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas.
  • Celebrity Reflection® continues 10-and-11-night itineraries through the Southern Caribbean including a special Mardi Gras Signature Event Sailing in February with Lisa Lutoff-Perlo on board.
  • Celebrity Silhouette® offers new 9-and-12-night itineraries in the ABC islands and Lesser Antilles, plus she visits new ports St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
  • The second ship to emerge from a Celebrity Revolution in March, Celebrity Summit® continues 7-night Southern Caribbean sailings out of San Juan. Plus, for the first time she’ll offer 7-night sailings in the ABC islands calling on five to ten ports.

Sailing with Celebrity is the best way to check off those bucket list destinations with new ships, new ports, and longer stays. Our exotic destinations are getting a revamp with new ships and new ports.

  • In the Galapagos Islands, Celebrity Flora joins the fleet to indulge you with the most luxurious accommodations in the archipelago.
  • Celebrity Eclipse moves to South America to ‘Round the Horn’ and explore the beauty of Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
  • More ships will sail in Hawaii—Celebrity Solstice® and Celebrity Eclipse®—and that means more itineraries to choose from including a round-trip option out of Los Angeles.
  • In Australia, we’ll now visit Eden, a brand-new port for us, plus we’ve added more overnight stays in seven cities, and more stays of 12 hours. It’s a whole new experience.

Celebrity Edge is nearing completion at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, Saint-Nazaire shipyard in France, poised to transform the way you experience the world. Take a sneak peek at the world’s most anticipated new ship.

Celebrity Edge is one of the biggest moments to date in Celebrity’s history. As we bring the most anticipated ship of the year to market, we also want to enhance our programming to make our Captain’s Club celebrations more special, more flexible and more accommodating.

Celebrity Edge introduces the industry-changing concept of outward facing spaces designed to build a greater connection between you and the sea. Eden is the essence of this concept, a true window to the world—literally. It’s three levels of sensory experiences completely wrapped in glass. It’s an experience so multi-faceted and innovative, you won’t find anything else like it as sea—or anywhere. As a Captain’s Club member, we want you to be among the first to see it. So starting on our 12/9 Maiden Voyage, the Captain’s Club Welcome Party on Edge will take place on embarkation day in Eden, giving you the opportunity to see it before anyone else. Enjoy a Captain’s Club paradise with live music, drinks and chef specialties.

We’re also changing up the Elite Cocktail Hour to give you more flexibility. Your SeaPass card will be loaded with three complimentary drinks from the Captain’s Club menu that you can redeem at many bars and restaurants throughout the ship. And starting on our 12/9 Maiden Voyage, we’ll announce locations for Captain’s Club members to meet and enjoy cocktails with other members and Senior Officers. So now you can enjoy a glass of wine with dinner or meet up with new friends.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard Celebrity Edge.

Two of our Zenith members recently gave up their top cruiser celebration, so their Michael’s Club Concierge could receive a graduation ceremony at sea.

Onboard Celebrity Equinox℠, Aveline, a 22-year-old Michael’s Club Concierge from North Hampton, England, casually mentioned to two of our Zenith members, Vincent and Gail Rossi, that she was missing her graduation back home from Plymouth University’s Hospitality Management program because she was working on board. Vincent and Gail sent Captain Kate a note letting her know what Aveline told them and asked that they honor Aveline at the next Captain’s Club Celebration rather than honor the two of them as the “top cruisers.”

Mrs. Rossi said, “As parents, the thought that she couldn't be at the ceremony with her family and friends broke our hearts. We have been part of the Celebrity family for almost 25 years and know first-hand how loving and caring that family is. I decided to write a note to Captain Kate and let her know about Aveline missing this once in a lifetime event. We offered to give up our moment in the spotlight (as top cruisers) in order to allow Aveline's achievement to be recognized.”

That letter got the ball rolling and the crew ran with it.

At the celebration, Captain Kate called the Rossi’s up, read their note aloud, and then surprised Aveline with a graduation ceremony complete with a “Bling It On” graduation cap and tassel, sash and flowers. After still honoring Vincent and Gail as top cruisers, Captain Kate asked them to remain next to her as they honored Aveline.

Mrs. Rossi said, “We got the chance to be Aveline's surrogate parents, a job anyone would be happy to do. The result was the most wonderful Captain’s Club party we have ever attended. It was an honor and pleasure to be part of it.”

And Aveline just couldn’t believe the lengths that the Rossi’s and crew went to in order to make her day special. “It meant so much to me. Even though I’m away from home I feel like I’m with my family. That day, the Rossi’s were like my adoptive parents – I took care of them and they took care of me.”

“It’s no secret that we have the most amazing guests and crew,” said Captain Kate. “I am proud to be surrounded by people who care and want to see others succeed. We are a team not because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust, and cheer for each other.”

We have to agree.
