Turtle Release with AVP of Community & Destination, Helen OConnell*

There’s nothing more romantic than spending Valentine’s Day on an incredible sailing with us. Ships are decked out and festive, and everyone has that loving feeling. Group vow renewals led by the ship’s captain are a fun way to say “I do” all over again, and are an exciting event with special live entertainment, and a sparkling wine toast. CUPID’S MARTINI

Celebrate your sweetheart—or yourself—with this refreshing raspberry martini at home. Just follow the recipe and raise a glass to an incredible vacation.

 

DIRECTIONS:

Muddle raspberries into a cocktail shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients to the cocktail shaker and shake. Double strain the mixture into a martini glass, garnish with a raspberry, and serve.

 

INGREDIENTS:

2 Raspberries

2 oz Ketel One or Your Favorite Vodka

0.5 oz Cocchi Americano

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

0.75 oz Simple Syrup

It’s the month of love, and we’re thrilled to tell you about Captain’s Club member Paul Evans, and how his Celebrity vacation made that once in a lifetime moment come true for him and his son Andrew.

 

Paul Evans and his wife Dee of 41 years have long been part of the Celebrity family and have been cruising with us since the early 90s. A retired landscape architect from the New York State Department of Transportation, Paul recently took his wife and two sons, Andrew and Thomas, on a Celebrity cruise to the Caribbean aboard Celebrity Reflection®.

The Evans were surprised and thrilled to discover that Andrew, who had brought his girlfriend Jessica along, planned on "popping the question" to her while the family was sailing. "Where better than on a Celebrity cruise to the Caribbean! I knew the crew and staff would make it a memorable occasion," Paul shared.

It took a few days for Andrew to scout out the perfect location, and he finally picked the Sky Observation Lounge on Deck 14. "It was a place that his future bride, Jessica, had grown fond of," Paul said. After the proposal, the Celebrity family came together to make every part of this occasion exceptional for the newly engaged couple—from the Cruise Director’s announcement of the couple’s engagement at the Captain's Club welcome party and Captain Matt's party with his officers in the Sky Bar to a surprise performance by the crew at Sushi on Five. "It was very special for our family...and it made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our soon-to-be daughter-in-law."

With Paul and Dee expecting their first grandchild in March, the family is looking forward to their next great vacation with us—with an eye on our next groundbreaking ship, Celebrity XcelSM. And we can’t wait to welcome them all back with open arms.
