At Celebrity Cruises®, while we connect through our similarities, we learn and grow most by celebrating our differences. By bringing together different cultures, experiences, and people, we strive to open the world for everyone. From pushing the envelope with the first sailing with an all-female bridge, celebrating Pride the whole month at sea and various LGBTQ+ events on board, to supporting Best Buddies International, we continuously endeavor to bring the world closer together.

Supporting Gender Equality

In an industry where less than 2% of the world’s 1.2 million mariners are women, we're proud to celebrate that 32% of our bridge officers are female. We had the first American female captain as a part of our team and the first West African woman on the bridge—and it doesn’t stop there. On March 8th, 2020, on International Women’s Day, our all-female bridge and officer team—helmed by Captain Kate McCue—made history as the first all-female sailing on a barrier-breaking tour on Celebrity Edge®. With a long history of championing diversity and inclusion, we're proud to push the limits and set new benchmarks in the cruise industry.

Our Initiatives

At Celebrity Cruises®, our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and gender equality goes beyond the borders of our ships and destinations. We're proud to support the LGBTQ+ community and offer legal same-sex marriages on board. This year, in 2024, we're expanding our annual fleet-wide Pride celebration to the entire month of June. Across the world, all month long, our award-winning ships will host LGBTQ+ gatherings, fabulous entertainers, and social events—including our popular LGBTQ+ Welcome Parties.

We are committed to initiatives to support, celebrate, and uplift all. One of these important initiatives is our commitment to Best Buddies International, the world's largest organization providing social, physical, and economic aid to over 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
