Galapagos Travel Requirements through June 30, 2022

 

Travel requirements vary by homeport country. Be sure you’re aware of both homeport country and Celebrity Cruises vaccine and testing requirements as they may differ. We will continually evaluate and update these requirements and protocols as new information becomes available. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements leading up to departure.


 

Ecuador  Country Travel Requirements​ as of March 4, 2022

  • All travelers 3 years and older must show proof of vaccination (with QR code or physical document) with all Covid-19 vaccine doses administrated at least 14 days prior to entry OR a negative RT-PCR test administrated no more than 72 hours prior to the flight to Ecuador.
  • Children under 3 years old are not required to present a vaccination card nor a RT-PCT test.
  • Any traveler who during the flight or upon arrival in Ecuador presents symptoms related to Covid-19, regardless of their vaccination status or negative RT-PCR test, will be evaluated by the Public Health authorities prior to entering the Migration area. If the traveler is considered a suspect case, an antigen test will be taken and if the result is positive, the traveler must undergo a 10-day quarantine.
  • Name on test results and vaccination card must match government issued identification.

A Traveler’s Health Declaration Form must be presented to the airline at time of boarding. This questionnaire will need to be filled out completely prior to flying into Quito, Ecuador. Copies will be available at the airport prior to your departure for your convenience.

Galapagos Travel Requirements​ as of May 5, 2022

  • All travelers 3 years and older must show proof of vaccination (with QR code or physical document) with all Covid-19 vaccine doses administrated at least 14 days prior to entry OR a negative RT-PCR test administrated no more than 72 hours prior to the flight to Galapagos.
  • Children under 3 years old are not required to present a vaccination card nor a RT-PCT test.
  • Name on test results and vaccination card must match government issued identification.

 

Travel Insurance with medical and evacuation coverage for Galapagos is a government requirement and guests may be asked to show printed or digital proof upon arrival in Baltra.  CruiseCare Travel Protection provides the necessary coverage.

 

Celebrity Cruises Requirements 

As of May 5, 2022, all guests ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated with all COVID-19 vaccine doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. 

Guests sailing on Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Xploration and Celebrity Xpedition in the Galapagos may have a mixed series of any two of the following vaccines taken within a minimum of 28 days between doses: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, or Covaxin.

Acceptable documentation must be in the form of the original document issued by the country’s health authority or healthcare provider that administered the vaccination. Proof of vaccination will be recorded and reviewed for signs of fraud. Please be aware that falsification of vaccination records is a federal crime subject to prosecution and will result in denial of boarding or removal from the voyage. Additionally, it may:

  • Be a violation of state and local laws, exposing you to criminal prosecution in places we visit.
  • Expose you to civil liability for costs and damages caused.

Celebrity Cruises provides for all PACKAGE guests complimentary COVID-19 PCR testing in Quito upon international arrival and health screening & Antigen testing prior to the flight to Galapagos. 

NON-PACKAGE guests will be provided with a complimentary COVID-19 PCR test and a health check in Baltra prior to embarkation. Non-package guests arriving prior to embarkation date to Galapagos, please email galapagosflightinfo@celebrity.com to coordinate your test.

Unvaccinated children between the ages of two and eleven years old must follow government entry requirements to Ecuador / Galapagos and will then undergo same testing procedures as vaccinated package and non-package guest.

For sailings starting on March 5, 2022 and forward, guests who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 within the last 90 days and have completed at least 10 days of isolation prior to boarding, are exempt from testing as long as they have a Certificate of Recovery, a proof of their positive test result, and are asymptomatic. The Certificate of Recovery must be shown to the medical team upon arrival in Quito (package) or Baltra (non-package). Guests who do not have a Certificate of Recovery from a doctor and are symptomatic, will need to be tested.

*Pre-Cruise testing requirements may continue throughout 2022.

Guests that do not meet the testing and health screening policy requirements will be denied boarding.   

Effective May 30th, 2022, face masks will be optional on board for all vaccinated guests, unless attending group activities in the indoor lounge.  Masks will continue to be required for unvaccinated guests, at all times indoors, except while eating or drinking. This policy will be re-evaluated on a continuous basis.

 

Arrival to Quito Airport​ 

  • Masks are mandatory during the pre & post-cruise stay in Quito.
For our Package Guests
  • Upon arrival in Ecuador, we will guide you through all that is required, but we want you to know what to expect.  
  • Celebrity Guides are vaccinated, undergo daily health checks, and will always wear masks​.
  • Private transfer to hotel via sanitized vehicles. If you have independent air booked, please be sure to provide your flight information to Galapagosflightinfo@celebrity.com to coordinate your transfers, information must be submitted no later than two weeks prior to sailing.
  • All luggage will be sanitized. 

 

Arrival to Hotel in Quito​ for Package Guests​ 

  • All guests will receive a complimentary Covid-19 test upon arrival at the hotel.
  • Healthy at Sea Amenities Kit including masks and hand sanitizer will be provided. 
  • Guests are required to stay with their group during the City Tour.

 

Arrival in Baltra​ 

Package Guests

  • Before transfer to the airport for the flight to Baltra, a health check, questionnaire review and a Covid-19 embark test will be conducted
  • Airport coach transfers are sanitized and at reduced capacity.​ 
  • Package guests will arrive via exclusive flight. 

All Guests:

  • Upon arrival at the airport in Baltra, guests will present their vaccination card, OR negative RT-PCR test result (taken 72 hrs. prior to boarding the flight to Galapagos). Guests will also undergo an additional temperature check required by airport protocols.
  • Guests will pass through a disinfection area and luggage will be sanitized.
  • Check-in for your cruise will be completed on board. Now, your unforgettable vacation begins.​

 

Non-Package-Guests:

  • At the airport in Quito or Guayaquil guests are required to present their vaccination card, OR negative RT-PCR test result (taken 72 hrs. prior to boarding the flight to Galapagos) to obtain their required Transit Control Card (TCT).
  • All guests will receive a complimentary Covid-19 test & Health Check at airport terminal in Baltra prior to embarkation.  

 

While On Board

  • Crew onboard will be vaccinated
  • Masks will not be required onboard for vaccinated guests unless attending group activities in the indoor lounge.  Masks will continue to be required for unvaccinated guests, under 12 years old, at all times indoors except while eating or drinking. This policy will be re-evaluated on a continuous basis.

 

While Ashore​ 

  • Same highest onboard cleaning standards ashore. 
  • Guests are required to stay with their group. 
  • Masks are not required while visiting uninhabited islands when no other vessels are at the same port. Masks are required while visiting populated islands.

 

Returning to Quito​ 

  • Vehicle transfers from the pier to the airport are sanitized.​.
  • Post-cruise day trips and shopping tours currently are suspended.
  • For package guests, departure PCR or antigen test will be arranged free-of-charge at hotel in Quito as needed for re-entry to home country.
  • Departure PCR or antigen test will be arranged free-of-charge at hotel in Quito for package guests returning to countries requiring a test for re-entry. 
  • For non-package guests, testing facilities can be recommended and we can assist with coordination.
  • Masks are mandatory during the pre & post-cruise stay in Quito.

 

Peru Country Travel Requirements as of March 4, 2022

  • All passengers 12 years and older must present a proof of complete vaccination, administrated at least 14 days prior to boarding the flight OR a negative PCR test with 48 hours validity prior to boarding their flight. (Note: LATAM requires for check-in in Quito original vax certificate, no copies are accepted)
  • Children under 12 years do not need a vaccine or test to enter the country, just be asymptomatic
  • A “Health online Sworn Statement” must be completed prior to boarding the flight

 

Requirements for domestic flights to Peru:

  • Guests 12 years and older must present their vaccination card with complete doses OR a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to the domestic flight.
  • Double face mask or one KN95 is mandatory

 

Requirements while traveling in Peru:

  • Permanent use of double face mask (surgical or cloth masks) or one KN95 mask is mandatory in all public spaces
  • Everyone over 18 years must carry a fully vaccinated certification (vaccines validated by the WHO against COVID-19) to enter closed facilities (restaurants, museums, trains, buses, or any other closed space).
