The capital of the Mexican state, Baja California Sur, La Paz was dubbed one of Time magazine’s “World’s Greatest Places” of 2021. Gracing the shores of the Sea of Cortez, this city has so much to offer. A paradise for the outdoor lovers, biking and hiking are popular activities. Or a walk along the three-mile long malecón that features stunning views of the city and sea, small parks, and inviting cafés. La Paz is a popular snorkel and dive site because the sea is teaming with underwater wildlife. The waters here are home to more than 800 species of fish and more than a third of the world’s marine mammals.
