bougna
Bougna is a root vegetable dish from New Caledonia. The word is derived from the Drehu word for “bundle or pack,” as the vegetables are wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in a coal fire pit. Chicken or seafood can be added in addition to traditional sweet potato,taro, yam and banana.
