Vancouver, British Columbia
Skyscrapers, mountains, and ocean come together seamlessly in Vancouver, without ever feeling crowded. Stanley Park alone is worth the visit, 1,000 acres of forest, totem poles, and scenic seawall right at the edge of downtown, while Gastown's cobblestone streets invite a leisurely afternoon and the local food scene punches well above its weight.
The city's multicultural character shows up especially at mealtime, where exceptional dim sum can be found just blocks from a classic seafood shack. With mountains visible from downtown streets and ski slopes less than an hour away, Vancouver manages to feel like an outdoor destination even before the ship leaves the harbor. Consistently ranked among the most livable cities in the world, it combines that outdoor access with genuine urban polish, excellent public transit, walkable neighborhoods, and a waterfront locals actually use rather than just admire.

Travel Tips
1
Vancouver is easy to get around. The Translink service incorporates bus, SeaBus, and the rapid transit SkyTrain, all of which can be managed by a single app. There are public bicycles to rent, and the city has plentiful bike lanes, so cycling is well managed. Uber and Lyft are both available. For a treat, take a seaplane ride and admire the city and mountains from above.2
The Canada Place cruise ship terminal is located in Vancouver’s downtown area, where you’ll find the upscale CF Pacific Centre Mall and Robson Street, which is full of stylish boutiques. In Gastown, you can look for unique and authentic pieces of Northwest Coast Native and Inuit art at the Inuit Gallery. There are no shops in the cruise terminal itself, although the small Waterfront Centre Mall adjacent to Canada Place has a food court and shops for essentials and souvenirs.3
The currency in Vancouver is the Canadian dollar. Although there is no foreign exchange service at the cruise terminal, you will find several ATM machines. There are exchange services throughout downtown Vancouver, as well as ATMs in hotels, banks, drug stores, and other venues. Canadian restaurants seldom include gratuities in the bill, and it is customary to tip an additional 15% to 20% of the total bill before tax.Seattle, Washington
The Space Needle is usually the first landmark to catch the eye, rising above a skyline framed by Puget Sound on one side and the Cascade Mountains on the other. Pike Place Market is worth braving the crowds for, with fishmongers tossing salmon overhead and local vendors selling everything from fresh flowers to handmade crafts. This is also where modern coffee culture first took root, so a cup here feels a bit like a small pilgrimage.
On clear days, Mount Rainier looms over the skyline from nearly anywhere in the city, a quiet reminder of how close the wilderness sits to the urban core. Between the ferries crisscrossing the sound and neighborhoods built into rolling hills, Seattle has a layered, working-city energy that rewards a bit of extra time before or after the cruise. The city's tech-driven growth over the past few decades has reshaped much of its skyline, but older neighborhoods like Ballard and Fremont still hold onto a distinctly local, unpolished charm.

Travel Tips

Seattle is well served by public transportation, from buses to the Link Light Rail, the Seattle Center Monorail, the Seattle Streetcar, and a network of ferries. There are taxis, ride-sharing with Uber and Lyft, and rental bikes and scooters. The city center is pleasant to explore on foot, too.2
Ships dock at Pier 91 in Smith Cove Cruise Terminal—an old naval base about two miles north of downtown Seattle. You’re close to the Magnolia neighborhood here, where you’ll find independent boutiques and gift shops, while the downtown area, with a much wider variety of options, is around 10 minutes’ drive by taxi.3
Seattle has the same tipping culture as the rest of the U.S. Expect to tip 15% to 20% in restaurants, 10% to 15% in bars, and around 15% in taxis. A suitable tip for a good tour guide is 10% to 20% of the total cost of the tour.5 Days at Sea

Travel Tips
1
When your Celebrity cruise to Hilo, Hawaii docks in port, you can take a complimentary shuttle to a huge shopping center, or ride in a taxi to downtown. A $1 bus, Monday through Saturday, will drop passengers off at the Hilo Information Center from the port each hour. It’s also free for seniors. After that, getting around during your Hilo cruise stop is pretty straightforward. The downtown is very walkable, and your own two feet will take you far on the island. Taxis are available in Hilo, too, ready to take you to the protected landmarks and national parks further from the city center.2
If you’re looking to spend the day shopping while on your Hilo cruise, a shuttle will take you to one of Hilo’s biggest shopping malls from the port. It’s huge for fashion retailers ranging from small to upscale, as well as selling goods from local artisans. Shop like a local while you’re there at the open-air Hilo Farmers Market, which sells fresh fruits and vegetables, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.3
Hawaii’s official currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and credit cards are widely accepted on the Big Island. Bringing a little bit of cash never hurts for small transactions or if you’re trying to get a bargain with a local vendor. Tipping standards are like the other states of the USA, so things won’t be too different. Leave 15-20% at restaurants and 15% for taxi drivers during your cruise to Hilo, Hawaii. Since the island relies so heavily on tourism and the service economy, you’re helping support Hawaii’s future when you tip.Honolulu (Oahu), Hawaii
Honolulu, Hawaii: Home to most of Oahu’s population, the port city of Honolulu extends across the southern shores of the island and offers multiple fascinating attractions. From Pearl Harbor to Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the United States, there’s so much to discover on a cruise to Honolulu. Visit the Honolulu Museum of Art for beautiful art collections that reflect Hawaii’s contemporary cultural landscape, including superb Asian art and fascinating Pacific and Polynesian artifacts. Experience the Hawaiian tropical rainforest on a short 2-mile hike along the Manoa Falls Trail or visit the 200-acre Lyon Arboretum, which has one of the largest collections of palm trees in the world and over 5,000 tropical species flourish. Then, head over to in Honolulu’s Chinatown neighborhood for tasty noodles, juicy dumplings, and fresh seafood.
Travel Tips

You’ll find taxis lined up outside Aloha Tower Marketplace, which is next to Pier 8 and Pier 9. This is also where rental car desks are located and provide shuttles between the pier and the car rental lot. Other ways to get around Honolulu include the local bus system (aptly named TheBus), which connects with most areas of the island. There is also a charming trolley that visits many of the area’s top sights.2
There are many souvenir shops in Waikiki, and the downtown area has many shops selling made-in-Hawaii products. The Aloha Tower Marketplace, which has nearly 30 stores and restaurants, is located right by the Honolulu cruise pier. If you need a break from shopping, head to the top floor observation deck for a picture-perfect view of the Honolulu Harbor. Popular Hawaiian souvenirs you can buy in Honolulu include handicrafts such as bowls and sculptures created with local wood; a woven bag or basket made with coconut fronds and hala tree leaves; Hawaiian shirts and dresses in colorful prints; chocolate-covered macadamia nuts; a bag of locally grown and roasted coffee beans; and a lei made with Niihau shells and seeds.3
The official currency of Honolulu and the rest of Hawaii is the U.S. Dollar. You’ll find a number of ATMs throughout the city, with many of the banks located in downtown Honolulu. Several banks offer currency exchange services. In addition to cash, most businesses will accept credit cards. Tipping in Hawaii is similar to the rest of the United States. A tip of 15% to 20% is expected for good service when dining out, ordering drinks at bars, or when hiring a taxi. Small tips are also appreciated if ordering a cup of coffee, and you’ll often see a tip jar at eateries with counter service.Celebrity Edge
