porramatur
An Icelandic dish of various cured meats and fish that might include a lamb’s head and pickled shark served with potatoes and rutabagas. Accompaniments include dark rye bread, butter, and brennivin, a kind of schnapps. Porramatur survives as the meal that originally celebrated the pagan holiday of Þorri.
