mujadara
Mujadara, an Arab lentil and rice dish, has origins in Iraq but is popular all over the Eastern Mediterranean. In addition to white rice and brown or green lentils, mujadara is made with olive oil, herbs, and spices. Bulgur is sometimes added or substituted. Crispy fried onions and sour cream or yogurt top mujadara, which is often served as a main dish.
