Sailings on Hold

The Government of Canada has recently announced continued port closures for all cruise ships through February 28, 2022.  In order to comply with these closures Celebrity Cruises has placed all sailings with an embarkation or port of call in Canada, on hold.  Currently, we are working to determine if it may be possible to operate these sailings without a call to a foreign port.  However, until a decision has been rendered in this matter, these sailings will remain closed, however the reservation will continue to be valid.

All sailings that include a port-of-call in Canada through February 28, 2022 have been placed “ON HOLD” by Celebrity Cruises

Impacted guests have four options available to them.  Guests can choose to either remain with their current 2021 booking as is, Lift & Shift their 2021 sailing to a 2022 sailing, receive a 125% FCC, or request a refund.  If no action is made by the guest, the booking will remain as is.

Guests will be permitted to retain their current 2021 sailings until further decisions are made.  Additionally, all guests booked on a May 2021 sailing currently placed on hold, will have an additional 45 days to make final payment.  This includes guests booked within a Group reservation. If no action is taken to cancel or Lift & Shift an “on hold” booking the booking will remain active and unchanged.

Impacted guests will be able to “Lift & Shift” their 2021 sailing to 2022 to retain their current rate and promotions.  However, the new 2022 sailing must remain on the same ship, same itinerary length, same stateroom category, and within one week pre/post the original sailing date.

Bookings including a Celebrity Alaska or Canadian Rockies Cruisetour may also “Lift & Shift” to the same tour next year, based on availability.

To “Lift & Shift” the booking, contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.  Note, there is currently not a deadline set to “Lift & Shift” bookings placed “ON HOLD”.

Impacted guests have the option to cancel their booking in exchange for a 125% FCC.  The issued FCC is to be redeemed by April 30, 2022 on sailings departing on or before September 30, 2022.  The value of the FCC would be calculated based on the amounts paid toward their cruise.  Cruise taxes and fees would then be refunded separately to their original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation.  FCC’s will be processed by April 16, 2021 via email.

Guests who recently contacted Celebrity Cruises on or after February 9, 2021 to request a refund do have the opportunity to change their mind and receive a 125% FCC instead.  Those guests may do so by calling Celebrity Cruises.

Impacted guests have the option to request a 100% refund on their original method of payment, as opposed to the 125 %FCC. Bookings requesting a refund must contact Celebrity Cruises by June 30, 2021.

Guests who have previously cancelled their sailing by taking advantage of our Cruise With Confidence program, and then rebooked on a sailing that has now been placed “ON HOLD” will not be eligible to cancel for a 100% refund; however their FCC can be reinstated.

Travel Agents may request a refund on behalf of their client’s behalf via the “Cruise with Confidence” tab on CruisingPower.com under “Brand Programs & News.” Refunds will be received at least 30 days after the request is submitted, cruise taxes and fees will be refunded separately.

If you’re a resident of the UK or Ireland and booked directly with Celebrity Cruises, you will need to contact us at  0844 493 2043 or access the Global Suspension refund request form on our website in order for your refund request to be processed.

If you booked through a travel agency or third-party online travel site, you must contact whomever created your booking in order to request a refund.

Any pre-cruise purchases such as shore excursions, beverage, internet, specialty dining or other onboard packages, through Celebrity Cruises, they will receive 100% refund for these items.  These charges will automatically be refunded in full to their original method of payment and will show up as a separate transaction.  Guests with independent shore excursion arrangements should contact their tour operators as soon as possible.

Refundable flights booked through Flights by Celebrity will be refunded automatically and the $200 cancellation charge will be waived. There is no need to call to initiate the process. Residents of North America with nonrefundable flights booked through Flights by Celebrity will need to contact the air carrier to check for available options. Guests residing outside of North America with nonrefundable flights booked through Flights by Celebrity will need to have the terms of the ticket reviewed by the Flights by Celebrity booking office to determine if they are eligible for a refund. Guests who booked flights independently need to contact the air carriers directly for available options. 

UK & Ireland Residents - Refundable and nonrefundable flights booked for UK and Ireland residents through Celebrity Cruises will automatically be refunded. Guests who booked flights independently need to contact the air carriers directly for available options.

As our valued partners, we recognize the work involved in planning your clients’ cruise vacations and, of course, want to ensure that you are fairly compensated.  For this reason, your commission earnings will be protected on both cancelled, paid in full, reservations and the future booking where the correlating FCC is redeemed as well as any booking rescheduled for the following year.

If reservation is paid-in-full:

• The 125% FCC:   commission will be paid on the cancelled booking and have the opportunity to earn it on the future sailing where the correlating FCC is applied.
• The “Lift & Shift” option (on eligible sailings only):  you have the opportunity to earn commission on the future sailing
• The “Refund” option:  commission will be paid on the cancelled booking. 

If commissions have already been paid, we will not recall the commission.
