Hawaii Travel Requirements as of May 5, 2022

Travel requirements vary by homeport country. Be sure you’re aware of both homeport country and Celebrity Cruises vaccine and testing requirements as they may differ. We will continually evaluate and update these requirements and protocols as new information becomes available. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements leading up to departure.

Health Protocols and Requirements

Vaccination Policy to Sail

COVID-19 booster vaccine shots are not currently required to sail on Celebrity Cruises but are highly recommended for your sailing.

As of May 5, 2022, all guests ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated with last primary dose administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation.

Vaccines approved and accepted by the World Health Organization (WHO) OR by the European Medical Agency (EMA) will be considered valid.

Guests with a mixed series of any two of the following vaccines taken within a minimum of 28 days between doses, will also be considered fully vaccinated:  

  • Pfizer
  • Moderna
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • AstraZeneca/ Covishield
  • Sinovac
  • Sinopharm
  • Covaxin

Any guest who has received one dose of a vaccine (other than Johnson & Johnson) will not be considered fully vaccinated.

Documentation of full vaccination must be provided at the terminal as a condition for boarding.

Guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may present a Certificate of Recovery and proof of the positive PCR test result taken between 11-90 days prior to the sail date in order to board. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record. Please be aware that some ports of call do not accept a Certificate of Recovery for the purposes of debarking and enjoying the destination. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record.

 

Sailing Testing Requirements:

Pre-Arrival/Embarkation Covid-19 Test

  • Fully Vaccinated** or Up to Date* Guests: Must present a negative Antigen test taken within 2 days prior to sailing. ·      
  • Unvaccinated Guests: Must present a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 Test taken within 3 days prior to sailing and take an antigen test at the Terminal prior to boarding. The PCR and antigen test may not be taken on the same day.  

Mid-Cruise/Port of Call

No test required.

Debark

  • Fully Vaccinated* or Up to Date** Guests: No required testing.
  • Unvaccinated Guests: Must present a negative COVID-19 Antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to arrival to the United States or Canada.

*Definition of Fully-Vaccinated: vaccinated with a full dose of a primary series vaccine over 6 months (180 days) prior to sailing and NOT boosted. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation. 

**Definition of Up to Date: vaccinated within 6 months (180 days) of final dose in a primary series OR boosted. The 180 days must extend to the end of the sailing. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation.

Testing Costs

Testing varies depending on vaccination status and itinerary. Unvaccinated guests will need to cover any cost for embarkation, mid-cruise/port of call or debark/re-entry required testing. These tests cost $55 per test, per person. Celebrity will cover the costs for children who are not eligible to be vaccinated.

Re-Entry (to home country)

Please check your country's re-entry requirements for specific testing information. We will provide eMED Test Kits for purchase for all U.S. guests* at debark to satisfy the U.S. re-entry test.  eMED Test Kits have telehealth capabilities in order to leverage a quick and convenient home travel test. Any other nationalities, please check your country's re-entry requirements for specific testing information.

A United States address is required to register and utilize these test kits.

Pre-Arrival Testing Options

Monitored Self-Test Kit - Abbott Binaxnow™ COVID-19 AG Card

While approved self-test kits are now readily available at drugstore chains in the U.S., we are also pleased to make them available for order pre-cruise. We suggest that you order them at least one full week in advance of your sailing. These tests allow you to complete your pre-cruise test at home or any place of your choosing with the help of live video supervision by a Certified Guide. Your results are typically ready in 15 minutes. While On Board

Currently, face masks are optional on board for all vaccinated guests. Masks will be required for unvaccinated guests in all public areas, except while eating or drinking. For guests 2 years of age and under, masks are not required. Celebrity Cruises follows the requirements in all jurisdictions we sail, and please note that mask requirements may vary by the destinations visited on your sailing and/or disembarkation port. This policy is continually re-evaluated, and any updates will be shared with guests.

Based upon conditions or regulations in the countries you will visit, you may be required to go ashore on a shore excursion provided by Celebrity Cruises. These decisions are always made with your health and safety as our top priority.
