Can you guess where in the world this destination is from the clues below?
There are a total of 74 islands in this area, however, only eight of them are inhabited. The sparkling white sand of this beach is intertwined with the vibrant turquoise blue water on a background of lush green vegetation. In fact, it’s the most photographed beach in its country. The origins of this pure white sand still remain unknown, with geologists proposing several theories as to its existence, including a sunken volcano. The sand is composed of 98% silica, with a powder-like consistency and doesn’t retain heat. Interestingly, the nearby rocks do not have silica, which means that tides carrying the silica grains must have deposited the sand on the island millions of years ago. This pure and beautiful white sand beach is easily accessible from a nearby Celebrity Cruises port of call for a half day excursion via high-speed boat.
