Do It Here, Then Do It There…
Here in SoCal we generally love and migrate toward restaurants that focus on organic, healthy cuisine that is still big on taste and creativity. One such restaurant that provides that is True Food Kitchen, which has multiple locations all over southern California.
True Food Kitchen centers its menu around an anti-inflammatory diet and focuses on healthy, natural ingredients with many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free menu options.
Tip: True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach will be part of Orange County Restaurant Week running from March 1 through March 7, 2015.
If you love dining at True Food Kitchen while in SoCal, then you’ll also love the dining at Blu Restaurant while sailing the seas and oceans of the world onboard Celebrity Cruises.
Blu is a spa restaurant onboard a majority of Celebrity Cruises ships that is exclusively for AquaClass stateroom guests (guests staying in suites also are welcome in Blu upon availability). Those staying in an AquaClass stateroom get special access to the Relaxation Room (on Solstice Class ships) and the Persian Garden in the spa plus get special spa amenities in their stateroom such as an aromatherapy diffuser and spa-inspired bath products…plus the exquisite gourmet cuisine of Blu that you won’t feel guilty indulging in.
Blu Restaurant serves fresh, natural food and the aesthetics of the restaurant reflect a Mediterranean feel reminiscent of a Greek isle. White walls and tables with a deep blue floor and blue accents provide a bright, crisp feel. The focal point of the restaurant is the large white flower motif adorning one of the walls.
Another focal point comes when your food is placed in front of you. Set against the backdrop of a white plate are rich colors of vegetables served alongside delicious entrees. The food of Blu is considered “clean cuisine” as it is a spa-focused culinary undertaking that takes beloved dishes like steak and pasta and makes them healthier while still delivering great taste. Blu Restaurant is open for both breakfast and dinner, and the cruise dining menu changes daily.
Dinner entrees include options such as filet mignon with celery root puree and olive oil beef jus; blackened ahi tuna; and pasta with porcini mushrooms, vegetable pistou, and basil. There is also always a daily vegetable dish. And if you think healthy cuisine doesn’t equal dessert, think again; at Blu Restaurant you’ll find an array of dessert options that stick to Blu’s fresh, natural ideals such as a coconut crème brûlée with pineapple and curry meringue or a no sugar added guava ice parfait with exotic fruits.
For breakfast, dine on healthier cuisine to help you wake up and be more alert for sightseeing or exploring the ship. You can order omelettes prepared your way with the whole egg or just egg whites and a variety of healthy filling options. Or opt for the BLU-Berry Pecan Pancakes. There is also fresh fruit, a variety of breads, and healthy smoothies.
Blu is on all of the Solstice Class and Millennium Class ships. To book a cruise on one of these ships, contact your local travel agent.
