Dobos torte, a creation of Hungarian pastry chef Jozsef Dobos, is a multilayered classic sponge cake sandwiched layer upon layer (about eight) with rich chocolate buttercream. The top layer is scored for easy slicing, then topped with caramel glaze and garnished with chopped walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts.
