Leaving the pier by jeep, this tour takes you inland to one of the most beautiful forest areas of the island. This tour will take you to explore the best examples of protected environment and natural vegetation hidden by the mountains of this volcanic origin island.
The tour starts from the garage in Honningsvåg center. After a security briefing and instruction the tour starts with a drive towards the NATO mountain. Experience Magerøy Island 's unique nature. Stop for photos at several stunning viewpoints. From the mountain drive back to Honningsvåg via the old church and return your ATV and driver suits at the garage. The total drive is approximately 1.5 hours.
After a short walk from your ship, you will change into appropriate clothes, which are provided for you, for a fast boat ride in the Finnish Archipelago. You begin your adventure heading towards the center of the city, past Embassy Park, Suomenlinna Island Fortress and the Open Air Market. After passing the giant Icebreakers, you will head towards the narrow straight Kustaanmiekka and then hit full throttle. Experience the scenic Finnish Archipelago at speeds up to 40 knots. After getting a taste of the speed on water, you land at one of the islands that form the Finnish Archipelago. Enjoy some refreshments, Finnish style. Fry sausages and have a taste of Finnish summer food.
Depart the pier and climb to an excellent viewpoint overlooking the charming town of Molde, Mount Varden. Proceed across the hills and travel along the Atlantic Ocean Road, to the quaint fishing village of Bud. Once in Bud, enjoy a coffee or tea and "svele," a local pastry specialty while taking in the scenery of the area. From Bud you will proceed to Ergen Fortress, which today is a restored memorial museum. With your guide, you may explore the underground network of bunkers, headquarters, and soldier's quarters complete with weapons and other memorabilia from World War II.
This tour will be operated in English only. Board your bus and drive to Gjesvaer. En route, your guide will introduce you to the unusual flora and fauna in the arctic region. Upon arrival in Gjesvaer, board a boat that will take you west of the North Cape to the protected island of Gjesvaerstappan. A large colony of puffins and kittiwakes make their home on the preserve.
Delight in a kaleidoscope of blues and greens and unique formations in the series of cliffside caves that can only be accessed sea. Enjoy a scenic drive to and from the boat departure point. On the return, enjoy free time in a traditional fishing village.
NOTES: Must walk approx 600 yds over very uneven surfaces at cliffs many steps to reach boat boarding area. Exact itinerary & cave viewing dependent upon wind & weather conditions. Have approx 45 mins for shopping. Walking in Marsaxlokk is at guests' discretion. Drive to/from port is approx 45 min.
Stroll along the harbor front to your awaiting boat to enjoy a scenic ride through the Stavanger Archipelago into the Lysefjord. Cutting a path of almost 65 kilometers into the country, the fjord is flanked by steep mountains. Proceed through the Lysefjord to one of Norway's spectacular wonders, Preikestolen, the Pulpit Rock. During your tour you will make a stop for tea/coffee and waffles at the beautiful Lysefjord Center. Cruising back to Stavanger, you will have a nice view over the city.
OVERVIEW: The highlight of this tour is a 2-hour guided hike to and from Briksdal Glacier.
HIGHLIGHTS: Hike along the river to the glacier and see the waterfalls and wonderful views along the way. You'll have time for photos and to enjoy the wonderful view and natural setting. You'll enjoy homemade cakes and coffee or tea at Briksdal Mountain Lodge.
NOTES: Guests must be able to walk approximately 2 miles uphill over dirt and stone hiking paths at the Briksdal Glacier. A limited number of electrical cars are available at an additional cost for guests who need additional assistance but all participants must walk the last 10 minutes to reach the viewpoint to see the glacier.
The easternmost of the Canary Islands, Tenerife was forged by volcanic activity. Explore the dramatic landscapes and unusual geological formations found here, and marvel at vineyards planted in seemingly barren fields of volcanic rock. The tour includes a short ride on a camel, introduced to the islands in the 15th century, and a tasting of locally produced wine.
