Travel thru heart of Scotland into Stirling where the Castle rises from flat plains. Coach drives thru old town to arrive at castle. Set on rocky outcrop where Lowlands meet Highlands, castle gives you unrivalled panoramas from battlements. You'll see Great Hall, Chapel Royal, Renaissance Palace & artillery fortifications of 16th-18th centuries. Following castle visit, tour returns to River Clyde, crossing over Erskine Bridge & traveling alongside river to Greenock. On arrival, you will be welcomed in the reception room, overlooking the dam, glen and waterfall, with a dram of Glengoyne single malt whisky. Whilst enjoying your dram, there is a short explanatory video describing the distillery and the processes in making malt whisky. You are then taken on an entertaining tour of the distillery. A light-hearted & entertaining 'nosing competition' follows where, using new found skills, you can further increase whisky knowledge. Browse in small shop selling before return to Greenock.
