Make the most of your vacation with a shore and land excursion that appeals to your interests. Knowledgeable, professional guides lead all excursions and offer special insights into the culture, history, wildlife, and geology of each destination. Discover first-hand how islanders went about the business of growing, harvesting and refining sugar in 18th century Barbados. Take an invigorating mush across a snow-covered glacier aboard an Alaskan dogsled. Or stroll through the maze of tiny streets in Mykonos, the birthplace of Apollo.
Starting your tour at the quay, pass the King Haakon's Hall, the Rosenkranz Tower, & Bryggen - a row of Hanseatic timbered houses. Further along, pass the bustling Fish & Flower Market, the City Park, & the Grieghall; the concert hall of Bergen. After a 30 minutes drive, you will arrive at Troldhaugen, home to composer Edvard Grieg, beautifully situated on Nordaas Lake. One of Norway's best-known pianists will give you a glimpse of Edvard Grieg's life with musical examples. After the recital visit the villa & garden. The excursion continues back to the city center & the peninsula of Nordnes with its typical 19th century white painted wooden houses.
