OVERVIEW: This full day tour offers a guided walk through the Slovenian capital with stops at major landmarks, a cruise on the Ljubljanica River by romantic riverboat and a traditional Slovenian meal. HIGHLIGHTS: Enjoy a guided walking tour of the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, that includes the medieval city center, Preseren Square, Town Hall, open air market, and three bridges created by Slovenian architect Joze Plecnik. Cruise the Ljubljanica River for approx. 1 hour. Savor lunch in a traditional Slovenian inn and enjoy approx. 90 minutes in Ljubljana. NOTES: Guests must be able to walk approx. 1.5 miles (roughly 1 hour) over even, granite and cobblestone surfaces, inclines and steps.

Upon return ashore, transfer to Bled Castle to visit wine cellar w/ wine monk. Monk provides demo on how wine made way from barrel to bottle in medieval era. Castle offers look into Herbal shop & old print shop. A medieval collection of armatures, knights and furniture is kept for exhibition. After castle visit, free time offered before return to port. If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour. For example, if you are sailing on October 18, you can make Shore & Land Excursion purchases online until October 13.
