Depart the Port of Souda to the British Commonwealth War Cemetery. A photo stop will be made. Tour continues to Ag. Triada Monastery (Holy Trinity) of Jagarolon. Explore independently the town before returning to the port. Note: Guests must walk approximately 1 mile over various surfaces and cobblestone streets with 20+ steps at the monastery and 5 to 10 at the museum. Conservative attire with no exposed shoulders or knees is recommended for monastery visit. Short pants, tank tops and revealing clothing are not acceptable. If guests miss the return bus, transportation back to the vessel is at their own responsibility/expense. The drive to/from Souda Port is approx 30 minutes each way.
OVERVIEW: Enjoy a cultural experience in Crete that includes a view of Lake Kournas, the Arkadi Monastery, and Rethymnon.
HIGHLIGHTS: See Lake Kournas and savor a "sfakiani pie", a traditional cheese pie with honey. Visit the Arkadi Monastery which was built in the last Venetian period and whose history dates back to the Byzantine times. You will explore the town of Rethymnon which despite the modern development and tourism, has retained much of its charm and remains the intellectual capital of Crete.

OVERVIEW: Enjoy a cultural tour that includes the extensive ruins of the ancient city of Aptera as well as the villages of Georgioupolis and Gavalochori.
HIGHLIGHTS: Start your tour with a short photo stop at the ancient ruins of Aptera. Enjoy a short guided tour of Georgioupolis and some free time in the traditional Cretan village of Gavalochori. You'll have some free time to explore Chania Town before returning to the ship.

Tour begins with a 50-minute drive to the Village of Vamos. Continue to the Karadi Monastery with the Agios Georgios Church. You'll visit the Braoudakis Winery to sample local wine. If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour.
