The lunar landscape of Giant's Causeway, World Heritage Site, lurking below gaunt seawall where the land ends, must have struck wonder into the hearts of the ancient Irish. The Causeway proper is a mass of basalt columns packed tightly together. On arrival at Giant's Causeway, coach parks at cliff top where columns are situated at sea level, approx 0.75-mile away. You'll have option of walking along paved pathway, which is steep in parts, leading down to the bottom of the cliffs, or taking shuttle. After visit to Giant's Causeway, stop to admire Dunluce Castle. Note: must walk approx 0.33 mile over various surfaces, steep inclines & steps. Drive to/from Belfast is approx 2 hrs each way.
