Begin with approx 30-min drive downtown Rostock. Start your exploration of Rostock with its Hanseatic buildings at Holy Cross Convent. Further along, see Northern Europe's oldest University buildings. Next is courtyard of monastery of holy cross where ancient town wall meets gardens of monastery. Proceed to new market where town hall dominates before visiting St. Mary's Church w/ astronomical clock. Next, coach transfers you to microbrewery "Trotzenburg" to learn about brewing process. Coach transfer to Berlin will include snack & escort onboard to/from Berlin to assist with questions. Tour doesn't include any entrance fees or lunch, but have snack on coach for return to ship. Provided with survival kit that includes general info material, emergency phone numbers. Upon arrival, informed of designated meeting time & place for return. You'll have approx 5 to 6 hrs on your own. Note: Coach ride to/from Berlin is approx 3 hrs each way. If miss bus, return transportation to ship will be own responsibility & at own expense. Amount of walking is at guests' discretion. Should required minimum not be met, guests are transported into Berlin on board scheduled train.

Farmer's Market with Free Time, RK40, Berlin (Rostock), Germany
Begin with a 30-min transfer into Rostock. You'll view from exterior some of the major sights of the Hanseatic town of Rostock. Pass by St. Mary's Church, two of town's former gates, Kropelin Gate & Stone Gate, as well as Town Hall. Next, stop at Karl's Farmers' Market in Roevershagen. The "Strawberry Barn," a handiwork & crafts center where craftsmen sell pottery, home-made goods, gifts, clothing, and of course, strawberries. You'll be treated with a German tart and coffee or tea. Note: must walk approx 0.5 mile over various surfaces with steps & inclines. Walking during free time is at guests' discretion. Time permitting; guests have approx 2.15 hrs for shopping.

Important: Please remember you have up to 4 days prior to your sail date to purchase your regular shore excursions online. If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour. For example, if you are sailing on October 18, you can make Shore & Land Excursion purchases online until October 13.
