The popular holiday resort of Omis was once the lair for pirates who once ruled the Adriatic. Tour the town, where their fortresses still stand guard, then cruise up the dramatic river gorge to a historic mill. On the return to Split, enjoy a guided tour of the medeival old town, which was built inside a former Roman imperial complex called Diocletian's Palace. Down the narrow alleys that used to be hallways, discover churches and palaces as well as cafes, shops and galleries.
NOTES: Exploration of Diocletian Palace is on foot over paved and cobblestone terrain with around 15 steps.
On this tour you will acquaint yourselves with a typical Dalmatian village, its inhabitants and traditions. Drive inland to the Primosten area to the small picturesque Village of Burni. On the way you will pass interesting landscapes and at the same time be impressed with the ingenuity of the people of this area, who have transformed this rocky terrain into an oasis of fertile, hospitable living.
Needless to say, first part of the tour will offer you visit to the world famous Town of Trogir occupied by spectacular constructions in stone-houses, palaces, churches, towers, walls etc. The streets are narrow and they truly give a feel of how life might have been in the old days.
