The tour starts from the garage in Honningsvåg center. After a security briefing and instruction the tour starts with a drive towards the NATO mountain. Experience Magerøy Island 's unique nature. Stop for photos at several stunning viewpoints. From the mountain drive back to Honningsvåg via the old church and return your ATV and driver suits at the garage. The total drive is approximately 1.5 hours.
This tour will be operated in English only. Board your bus and drive to Gjesvaer. En route, your guide will introduce you to the unusual flora and fauna in the arctic region. Upon arrival in Gjesvaer, board a boat that will take you west of the North Cape to the protected island of Gjesvaerstappan. A large colony of puffins and kittiwakes make their home on the preserve.
After a short walk from the ship, change into the comfortable thermal-floating suits, board your Rib Boat & ride the waves of the Arctic Ocean while exploring the plant & wildlife of the area. After approximately a one-hour trip, you will have the opportunity to refresh yourself with a visit to the Artico Ice Bar. Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.6 mile over flat surfaces with 2 to 3 steps to enter/exit the boat. Due to the nature of this excursion, guests with coronary, back, hip or walking problems & women who are pregnant should not participate on this tour. Participants should be in good physical condition & must wear a floating suit during the tour.
This tour will be operated in English only. You will be met at the pier in Honningsvag and taken by bus to the lavvocamp at Sarnes. Here a local escort takes you to the pier where the King Crabs will be caught. The crabs needed for cooking will be brought back to the lavvo, 20 yards from the pier. A small meal of the crabs will be prepared and served in the lavvo. The King Crab is served with bread, lemon, mayonnaise and mineral water.
This tour will be operated in English only. Embark upon an unforgettable trip to the North Cape area on a King Crab Safari. Board your boat and travel directly to the crab pots in Sarnesfjorden. En route, stop for a short photo opportunity of the rich coastal bird life. Upon reaching the pots, your guide will check the pots for King Crabs. Afterwards, continue to the camp at Mageroya where your guide will prepare the catch of the day, and enjoy the fresh exquisite taste of the King Crab on this unique adventure.
This tour will be operated in English only. This independent sightseeing tour allows you to explore the North Cape on the island of Mageroy, which literally translates as Meagre Island'. Begin with a drive through the wild, desolate terrain to the North Cape Plateau, taking in the Arctic flora and fauna and perhaps seeing some of the many reindeer grazing here. At the North Cape you can explore at leisure and visit the cafeteria, souvenir shops, post office and small Ecumenical Chapel. Or gaze across the ocean from the famous globe monument on the cliff's edge or enjoy a short film in the cinema showing the landscape change through the seasons.
This tour will be operated in English only. Board your coach and depart for this unique excursion where you will visit the two small fishing villages Skarsvag and Kamoyvaer on the island of Mageroya. After the visit in Kamoyvaer your coach will take you to the "North Cape Christmas and Winter house" in Skarsvag. Step inside, hear the Christmas music, experience the homelike atmosphere and see the room decorated for Christmas. You will get the possibility to study a wide range of local art and handmade crafts. From the village of Skarsvag you will return to the ship in Honningsvag.
