The countryside north of Copenhagen has traditionally been the Copenhagener's playground, particularly for Royalty who has dotted the area with castles and palaces. Passing through a number of popular resorts, you arrive in Helsingør, where a visit is paid to Kronborg Castle. After visiting Kronborg, you will drive to one of the excellent restaurants in North Sealand for lunch, usually Asminderød Inn close to Fredensborg Palace. After/before lunch you will see Fredensborg Palace: Continue a short way to Hillerod and Fredriksborg Castle.
