Take a short city sightseeing by bus, before heading toward the Sommaroy Island. Cross the Sandnessund Bridge that connects the city of Tromsö with the Kvaloy Island. Along the whole route you can follow the jagged mountain peaks on the northern side of the Senja Island. After a scenic drive you will reach the idyllic Sommaroy Island; the biggest fishing village of Tromsö with 300 inhabitants. Fishing and hunting has been the livelihood on the island since time immemorial. Tromso, Gateway to the Arctic, is delightfully situated on the forest-covered island of Troms. Polaria offers unique experiences with the world's northernmost aquarium with Arctic species . The center is housed in a very distinctive building that represents ice floes that have been pressed up on land by the rough seas of the Arctic. A Super-videograph shows a panoramic video film of Spitzbergen. Polaria is built in an interactive way which invites you to discover the Arctic area individually. You proceed via the Tromso Bridge, which connects Troms Island with the mainland, to the Arctic Cathedral for an interior visit.

Tromso, capital of Northern Norway and largest township within the Polar Circle is one of the few towns in Northern Norway that has been able to preserve its charming buildings. Tour around the island, passing Lake Prestvatn where the Meteorological Institute is situated. Back in the city centre, proceed via the Tromso Bridge to the Arctic Cathedral. The ultra-modern architecture symbolises the immense strength of the pack ice in the Arctic Ocean. The church is a landmark for the city and was consecrated November 19th, 1965. The famous architectural shape is largely due to 11 aluminium-coated concrete walls on each side of the building.
Tromso Sightseeing & Storsteinen Funicular - TS04 -

Your first visit will be at the Tromso Museum, where the section on the Lapplanders is of special interest. After a tour around the island, proceed via the Tromso Bridge to the Arctic Cathedral. The ultra-modern architecture symbolises the immense strength of the pack ice in the Arctic Ocean. After a short visit in the Cathedral the tour continues to the Storsteinen cable car. The ascent on the cable car takes appprox. 10 minutes, lifting you up to the roof of Troms Valley, 450 yards above sea level. From the top of Mount Storsteinen you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Tromso city and its beautiful surroundings, and during the spare time enjoy the landscape.
