Start your tour by visiting the viewpoint Mount Varden, overlooking the 87 white peaks of the Romsdal Alps, the fjord and islands. Proceed to the forbidding Atlantic Ocean Road, 5 miles in length and connected by 8 bridges. Visit the charming fishing village of Bud, to enjoy coffee and "svele" (local pastry specialty), while taking in the scenery. During World War II the Germans occupied Norway, and Ergan Fortification was one of many forts that served to guard against allied invasion. Today it is a restored memorial museum. Together with your guide you may explore the underground network of bunkers.

Pass through Molde en route to the fishing village of Bud. A photo stop will be made at Ergan Fortification. Your next photo stop will be at along the impressive Atlantic Ocean Road built across islets and skerries, and linked by bridges. From the Geitoya Island you will have a 15 min boat transfer to the island of Haholmen, consisting of 20 small islands and islets. Enjoy a lunch buffet in the rustic, cosy restaurant and explore the picturesque island, before returning to the main land.
Hiking Mt. Varden - MW03 -

Molde lies sheltered from the northern winds and for that reason - as well as the Gulf Stream, you will find vegetation otherwise unknown on the 62nd latitude. Enjoy a short city sightseeing before you reach the Varden Viewpoint, from which you can enjoy a stunning view of the Romsdalfjord with its many islands and 222 snow-capped mountain peaks. From this point you will start your hike. A short break will be made outside the Storli Lodge. The tour continues through the forest to the Romsdal Museum, an open air museum, where you will have a closer look at the old, wooden houses. On your way back to the pier you will pass the Reknes viewpoint with view of the town and the surroundings.

Molde, known as the «city of roses» and you will soon see why as you tour this delightful town. After a tour of Molde town, visit the Romsdal Museum, where in an open-air compound showing wooden houses ranging from Viking dwellings to 15th-century bourgeois mansions. Continue up to Mount Varden to enjoy the panorama over 87 white peaks of the Romsdal Alps, while below lies the beautiful tranquil fjord and its islands. Proceed to Skaret, where you will experience old buildings, Norwegian food traditions, handwork, candle factory and activities. See how candles are made, tinted and creatively decorated. Coffee/tee and waffles will be served in the cafeteria.
