Bird Safari - HV02 -

The safari starts by a bus transfer from Honningsvag to Gjesvaer, a small fishing village in the western part of the island Mageroy. On your way may get into one of our arctic suits to insure a warm bird safari. You will get an introduction to the flora and fauna in this arctic landscape, especially about the birds in the protected area «Gjesvaerstappan». In Gjesvaer you will change from bus to boat, which will take you to Gjesvaerstappan 9,3 mi west of the North Cape. It is not allowed to go on shore on the island, but from the boat you will get a good impression of the bird life. A big colony of puffin and kittiwakes are found here.
Deep Sea Rafting - HV03 -

Deep Sea Rafting is an exciting possibility to experience the power of nature at Europe's northernmost point. Wearing comfortable thermal-suits, divided on the two pontoons of the Zodiac you will ride the waves of the Arctic Ocean while enjoying the flora and fauna in this region. Then you will have the opportunity to visit the Artico Ice Bar. Everything inside the bar is made of natural ice from the lakes of Lapland: an ice bar, an igloo, a movie screen of ice and nice sculptures. Return by foot to the ship. Participants should be aware that there are certain inherent risks involved in any rafting excursion. Necessary equipment (thermal suits and PFD) are provided by the rafting company.
Honningsvag Walking Tour - HV05 -

A local guide will take you on a historic trip in Honningsvag. Today the town appears as a fine example of a re-built town after the 2nd world war. The entire town was burned, except for the church. You will visit the Honningsvag Church and do a tour there - as long as this can be done without disturbing any ceremony in the Church. From the church you go to the North Cape Museum where you will learn about the daily life at the northern coast of Norway, fishing, fish processing and remembrances from the North Cape tourism. Then you will visit the Artico Ice Bar. Everything inside the bar is made of natural ice from the lakes of Lapland. an ice bar, an igloo, a creen of ice and sculptures.
King Crab Experience - HV09 -
Honningsvag, Norway
Leave by bus to the lavvocamp at Sarnes. Here the guide takes you to the pier where the King Crabs will be caught. The crabs are either in large tanks on shore or in traps, which will be pulled from the ocean. The King Crab can measure up to 2 meters between its claws, and weigh as much as 10 kilos. However your experienced guide is most likely to catch "small" crabs at 3 to 7 kilos. The crabs needed for cooking will be brought back to the lavvo, 20 yards from the pier. In the lavvo - a tent traditionally used by the samis, you will be sitting on reindeer skin, watching the crabs being prepared. A small meal of the crabs will be prepared and served in the lavvo.
King Crab Safari - HV06 -

Join an unforgettable trip, King Crab safari, in the area around the North Cape. Meet the infamous King Crab and get to taste it. You will be taken deep sea rafting by boat directly from the harbor to the crab pots in Sarnesfjorden. A photo stop will be made on the way. When you reach the pots the guide will check what`s inside the traps down in the deep. The trip continues to the lavvo camp at Mageroya. A lavvo is a tent traditionally used by the samis. The northernmost point of Europe is situated on the island of Mageroy at a height of 310m and with an impressive panorama of the surrounding sea. Here the North Atlantic Ocean mingles with the Arctic Ocean and crashes on the first piece of European shore. Passengers are landed in the little town of Honningsvag, where coaches depart for a 45-minutes drive to the summit of the North Cape. You drive through wild, desolate terrain and experience one of the few places on mainland Europe where the landscape and flora reveal an arctic character. Refreshments and souvenirs are available in the North Cape Hall and your postcards mailed from here will bear the unique postmark "Nordkapp".

Visit the two small fishing villages Skarsvag and Kamoyvaer. After the visit in Kamoyvaer your coach will bring you to the "North Cape Christmas & Winter House" in Skarsvag. Hot "gloegg" and homemade "lefse" will be served, and you will get the possibility to study a wide range of local art and handmade crafts. Everything is for sale and made in the district around the North Cape area.
