This excursion combines the amazing experience of a tram ride along with the adrenaline rush of a zip lining tour. It is a natural sanctuary that protects the rainforest and its intense biodiversity within a 1,200-acre private reserve. Minimum age to participate is 12 years. Maximum weight limit is 260 pounds. The tour will be an expedition into the Tropical Rain Forest. Your vehicle is a specially designed jitney for passengers pulled by a tractor. A stop is made to view the different species of plants, trees and birdlife. Once you depart the port of Limón, you will head to our Operations Center to get changed, use restrooms and any last minute shopping needs. This Class II+ section on the Reventazon River will provide you with the thrill of rafting, get you wet but keep you safely in your boat. Return to the Rios Tropicales operations center for lunch.

The sanctuary, established by Luis and Judy Arroyo, is a non-profit organizaton dedicated to the protection and research of these loveable creatures. Then, explore the pristine waters of the Estrella River on a fiberglass canoe, rowed by a local guide, and hike around the property looking for the many sloth that have been released in the rain forest. Important: Please remember you have up to 4 days prior to your sail date to purchase your regular shore excursions online. If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour. For example, if you are sailing on October 18, you can make Shore & Land Excursion purchases online until October 13.
