Once you depart the port of Limón, you will head to our Operations Center to get changed, use restrooms and any last minute shopping needs. This Class II+ section on the Reventazon River will provide you with the thrill of rafting, get you wet but keep you safely in your boat. This trip is designed for people of all ages as we paddle together on the wide-open waters of the river through small waves with little maneuvering. Return to the Rios Tropicales operations center for lunch.
This tour introduces you to the world of the sloth at the Aviarios del Caribe Sloth Sanctuary. The sanctuary, established by Luis and Judy Arroyo, is a non-profit organizaton dedicated to the protection and research of these loveable creatures. Meet the adults and their adopted babies while you learn about their living habits and unique personalities. Then, explore the pristine waters of the Estrella River on a fiberglass canoe, rowed by a local guide, and hike around the property looking for the many sloth that have been released in the rain forest. Enjoy a fresh fruit buffet and browse for souvenirs before a relaxing scenic ride back to port.
After a bus ride to the Tortugero Canals, you'll cruise on specially designed boats for approx. 2 hours. The Tortuguero Canals are a navigable network of lakes and channels that cross Tortuguero National Park from the southeast to the northwest. These canals also serve as waterways for transportation and exploration. A visit to a banana plantation will be made prior to your return to the vessel. Please note that there may instances whereby the processing facilities will be closed on Sunday and Holiday's.

Enjoy fresh fruit and juices and pick up a memento to remind your day. Wildlife sighting while common cannot be guaranteed.

If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour. For example, if you are sailing on October 18, you can make Shore & Land Excursion purchases online until October 13.
