Eco Cruise on Gatun Lake and Locks, CO62, Colon, Panama
Prior to the construction of the Panama Canal, the vast jungle area that is now the Gatun Lake was teeming with an overwhelming abundance of wildlife. You and your interpretive guide will slowly cruise the back channels, island and bays that make up this unique ecosystem.

Gatun Lake Kayak & Eco Adventure, CO06, Colon, Panama
After a safety and instruction briefing, you will set out on your ecological tour through the islands that surround Gatun Lake. The kayak portion of your tour will conclude at the Sol Melia Resort for a brief bus transfer to the Gatun Locks where you will be given time to view the locks from the observation deck.

After a 30-minute ride at high speed through the heart of the Panama Canal, the boat will slow down and enter the labyrinth of jungle-covered islands of Lake Gatun. The trained naturalist guides will track the wildlife as well as educate you about it and its habitat. There is a 1 1/2-hour drive to and from the wildlife sanctuary.

After a 1-hour narrated drive to Balboa, the ferry will travel through the Miraflores Locks, along Miraflores Lake, through the Pedro Miguel Locks and through the Gaylard Cut. Your canal experience concludes at the pier in Gamboa for a 1 hour bus ride back to the ship. Lunch buffet included.
