The aerial tram takes visitors on an approx 70-minute excursion through the canopy of the rain forest to discover the hanging gardens of air plants and birds, hidden at the top of diverse tall trees. The tramway runs through a private reserve that borders the Braulio Carrillo National Park. After your tram ride, you can take an optional 45-minute guided walk through the rainforest, garnering a deeper appreciation from this new perspective of this complex environment. The motor coach ride to the tram takes 1 1/2 hours each way and lunch is included in this tour.
You will visit a Dole banana processiong facility for an enlightening look into how bananas are selected, cleaned, and prepared for their trip overseas. You will also see one of the villages built by Dole for its employees. Your final stop will be for souvenir shopping. This trip is designed for people of all ages as we paddle together on the wide-open waters of the river through small waves with little maneuvering. Return to the Rios Tropicales operations center for lunch.

The sanctuary, established by Luis and Judy Arroyo, is a non-profit organizaton dedicated to the protection and research of these loveable creatures. Meet the adults and their adopted babies while you learn about their living habits and unique personalities. Then, explore the pristine waters of the Estrella River on a fiberglass canoe, rowed by a local guide, and hike around the property looking for the many sloth that have been released in the rain forest.
