Alaska is home to the most sustainable fisheries in the world and provides fresh salmon, halibut, rock fish, pacific cod, Dungeness crab, pacific oysters, and King crab to many parts of the world. During your tour you'll learn about the local fisheries of southeast Alaska. As fisheries are seasonal, the day to day landings vary. After your guide selects your fish for the day, you'll head up to the private dining room in the Alaska Fish House where you will learn how to fillet salmon and/or halibut as well as sample salmon from the in-house smoker. The freshly filleted fish will be transferred to the head chef for preparation of your seafood meal that will be paired with organic produce.
Head out from a private downtown marina and to Bostwick Bay, home to tens of thousands of Dungeness crab. Learn how to bait and set crab pots with your experienced guide. While your pot "soaks" head out on an adventure of your choosing. Your 22-foot cabin cruiser is outfitted for salmon fishing, halibut fishing, or pulling up to the beach for beachcombing and exploring. With just you and your friends and/or family on board you can truly customize your day. After exploring head back to the marina and enjoy a meal with your catch of the day at the Alaska Fish House. If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour. For example, if you are sailing on October 18, you can make Shore & Land Excursion purchases online until October 13.
