Your tour begins with a short drive along the Embarcadero to Fisherman's Wharf where you board the ferry to Alcatraz Island. On arrival at Alcatraz a Park Ranger will provide an introduction to the infamous prison prior to your audio tour through the facility. Travel back to the Wharf and board your bus for a drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito where you can independently explore this quaint little town. Advance booking is recommended. There may be an unavoidable wait before embarking the ferry to Alcatraz.

The full loop is 2.5 hours in duration. The Napa Valley Wine Train is one of the most unique & best Napa restaurants. After about a 1 hour drive north of San Francisco, you will arrive at the Napa train station in downtown Napa. You will be welcomed on board the train with a welcome glass of house red or white wine. Choose from a seasonal menu all of which is prepared fresh & to your liking by the chefs in the specially designed kitchen car. Along the journey, you will see famous wineries like Robert Mondavi Winery, Opus One, Far Niente as well as other gems situated along the 25-mile track. After the 3 hour journey, you will arrive back at the station, disembark the train & prepare for your return drive to San Francisco.
Your tour begins with a drive around downtown San Francisco. You will drive through Union Square and head towards Nob Hill. You will enjoy a brief stop here to visit Grace Cathedral. After your visit to Grace Cathedral you continue on to Chinatown for a Dim Sum Lunch at one of Chinatown's most popular restaurants. After lunch, your tour takes you through the streets of Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square. A photo opportunity awaits you at The Bridge Pavilion overlooking the world famous Golden Gate Bridge. From the Pavilion it is on to Golden Gate Park (Time Permitting) before returning to the ship.
After debarking the ship and collecting your luggage, your sightseeing drive includes views of Coit Tower Golden Gate Park, De Young Museum and the Cliff House. Pass the Palace of the Legion of Honor on the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. View Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, and Pier 39 before making your way to San Francisco International Airport. Available to guests with flights departing after 3pm for domestic flights and after 4pm for international flights.
Drive north over the Golden Gate Bridge to the redwood forest of Muir Woods. Take a walk through a part of the National Monument that includes giant coastal redwood trees rising 250 feet or more. While in Sausalito you'll have time to independently enjoy the bay views and browse at the boutiques, art galleries, and arts and craft shops along the charming waterfront.

If you are within the 4 days, you will then need to purchase your shore excursions onboard; land excursions would need to be purchased directly through your Tour Director on the land portion of the Alaska Cruisetour. For example, if you are sailing on October 18, you can make Shore & Land Excursion purchases online until October 13.
