This fascinating half-day tour will focus on the contrast between the ancient Mayan city of Altun Ha and the modern day Belize City. Altun Ha thrived as a trading post to the Mayan World during the Post Classic and Classic periods. Belize City is home to approximately 35% of the country's population and remains the commercial capital of the country.

Enjoy a city tour highlighting the history of Belize from its founding by shipwrecked British sailors in 1683. At the Airboat Outpost, receive a short orientation and safety briefing before boarding a 450-hp airboat. Travel via waterway to Almond Hill Lagoon. Altun Ha is the Mayan ceremonial which is set in pristine rainforest, has three plazas and thirteen structures within its epicenter and was a vital trade center during the Classic Period. Your snorkelling adventure begins with a short boat ride from the ship to a beautiful tropical island (Water Caye) where you will be outfitted with your snorkelling gear and a brief orientation before going to the snorkelling site. Rendezvous Caye provides some of the finest snorkeling in Belizeans waters. The Caye lays adjacent to the inner side of the reef where inexperience snorkelers can enjoy the placid waters that make snorkeling easy.
