Livadia Palace
History buffs will want to venture two miles outside of Yalta to the 116-room summer estate of the doomed Czar Nicholas II. The Italianate house, built of Crimean granite, was the setting for the famous 1945 Yalta Conference between FDR, Churchill, and Stalin.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral
It’s no surprise that Yalta, once considered the Ukrainian coastal resort of the czars, has a number of stunning historic buildings sprinkled throughout its downtown. One of the finest is this 1902 cathedral, with its opulent Byzantine domes and ornate, hand-carved facade.

Yalta City Walk
Get an overview of Ukraine’s summer capital on this four-hour walking tour. You’ll explore the museum of poet Lesya Ukrainka and enjoy a performance of traditional Ukrainian music, then stop in for a refreshment at the café in the Yalta Chekhov Theater, named for the famous writer.
