Check out Siam Leather Goods for handcrafted leather clothing and accessories ranging from shoes and handbags to pants, wallets, and wine sleeves. Not all the leather here is from obvious sources: the pricier custom pieces are crafted from the skins of farm-raised crocodiles.

Must-Sees from the Editors of Travel + Leisure

Grand Palace

This gold-spired complex built in 1782 served as the home of Thai kings for more than 100 years. The palace is divided into three primary sections: the Outer Court (the visitor entrance today); the Center Court, which was home to the king; and the Inner Court, the residence of the king’s consorts and daughters. To visit, men must wear long pants; women cannot expose their shoulders and should be covered in long skirts.

Canal Tour

Travel Bangkok by canal to get a glimpse of why the city was once called the Venice of the East. Grab a long-tail boat at the Tha Chang pier near the Grand Palace, but don't forget to stop by the striking Wat Arun temple on the other side of the Chao Phraya River.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Vibrant, chaotic, and packed with surprises, Thailand's largest market—with thousands of stalls tucked into narrow sois, or alleyways, on the city’s north side—offers everything from rare orchids to block-printed textiles. Don’t let the name fool you: sections of the market are open weekdays as well.
